First 1961 60th Reunion Pre-Reunion Zoom Event Sept 9th

Pre-Reunion Event

Our Host Sam Hopkins Invites You
to a Virtual Presentation by
Peter Savage,
speaking about his Career in Intelligence

CIA Stories I Now Can Tell from My Days in Brazil

Peter’s fascinating variety of careers began with CIA intelligence and paramilitary training, taking him to Argentina and Brazil in the 60’s and 70’s.  He could not tell anyone about his activities at the time or even long after.  But now he can relate to us some of his adventures as a Clandestine Service Officer.  Today he will talk about his experiences in Brazil

Peter worked for four years in Brazil as a US Foreign Service Officer, serving in the US Embassy in Rio de Janeiro.  He became involved again in anti-terrorist operations after Ambassador C. Burke Elbrick was kidnapped in 1968.  His recommendations to President Nixon played a key role in opening up negotiations on several diplomatic fronts between Brazil and the U.S.
