Lost to Us All: Ferdinand “Moose” Colloredo-Mansfeld Correction

Moose Colloredo-Mansfeld (Harvard ’61, HBS ’65) died last Tuesday at his home in Hamilton.  His life was one of exemplary leadership and significant accomplishments.  Moose began his real estate career with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes in 1970, and served as CEO from 1990 to 1997.  He was a Founding Member of the Land Trust Alliance, a Trustee of the Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital, a champion for racial justice in the Boston public schools, and served with numerous other charitable and civic organizations.  In these and many other areas, Moose was a powerful force for good throughout his active life.

An annual Ferdinand Colloredo-Mansfeld Prize for Superior Achievement in Real Estate Studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (established 2008) is awarded to a graduating student from any degree program at Harvard.

He is survived by his wife Susanna, their three children, Franz, Rudolf, and Anne, and ten grandchildren.  There will be a service to celebrate his life, sometime in April at the Groton School Chapel (282 Farmers Row, Groton, MA  01450).
